Glimpse of each other

Author POV

It was Sunday, but Meghna was still working hard. For three days straight, she had been glued to her laptop, working nonstop and ignoring the need for breaks or meals.

Nick walked in, his eyes showing how tired he was even though he tried to stay calm. "Ma'am, it's been three days. We both need a break. I'm starving, and you could use some rest too." He said even though his body was calm and composed his eyes were telling how much tired he was.

Meghna looked up from her laptop, knowing he was right. "Order some food for both of us," she said firmly. "You can take all the rest you need tomorrow, but we have to finish this task today." Her voice made it clear that the work was a top priority.

About 30 minutes later, the food arrived. Meghna was seated on the sofa, scrolling through her phone, while Nick efficiently set out their meal.

"Here you go," Nick said, offering Meghna her portion with a warm smile.

As they began to eat, Nick noticed that Meghna's eyes were puffy and red, indicating she might have been crying for a long time, "Ma'am, is everything alright?"

"Yeah, why?" Meghna responded in her usual detached tone.

"It just seems like something might be wrong," Nick replied gently.

Meghna's gaze met his, her demeanor shifting to one of seriousness. "Let's avoid this topic shall we?," she said.

Nick nodded in understanding, recognizing that he couldn't press her further if she wasn't ready to discuss it.

After a period of silence, Meghna finally spoke up.

"Have you received any updates from Mr. Gupta regarding the issue?" she inquired in a professional tone.

"Yes, Ma'am," Nick responded. "He mentioned that he will have the paperwork prepared within a day. The only remaining task is to find a suitable groom."

"Tell him to speed up the process," Meghna commanded. "I don't have much time to spare." Her tone was firm, reflecting her urgency and determination.

Siddharth POV

It was just another Sunday morning, and all I wanted was some peace and quiet. The past week had been filled with unexpected events and had left me utterly exhausted. To preserve my sanity, I decided to spend the day at Mayank's house, but now i think it might not have been the best choice. This guy just wouldn't stop talking. If he weren't my childhood friend, I can't even imagine what I might have done to him for driving me crazy with his constant chatter.

"Why don't you try shutting up and let me enjoy some peace?" Siddharth said, clearly irritated.

"No chance," Mayank replied with a mischievous grin. "I'm not letting you have peace until I'm gone."

Siddharth's frustration peaked. He stood up, his voice raised. "Either talk about something other than your nonsense or I'm out of here."

"Alright, alright, I'll change the topic." Mayank said, gesturing for him to sit back down.

"So, when are you planning to get married?" Mayank asked, attempting to shift the conversation.

"When you find me a suitable bride," Siddharth responded coldly.

"Actually, I've had some of my contacts on the lookout for a bride," Mayank said, his tone turning serious.

"And how long will that take?" Siddharth asked.

"I'm guessing you'll have your bride by tomorrow," Mayank said with a confident grin.

Siddharth simply nodded and closed his eyes, trying to block out the noise.

"So, do you have any specific requirements for the bride? Maybe a particular profession or something?" Mayank asked with a teasing smile.

Siddharth rolled his eyes in frustration. "Just find a bride," he said, his tone stern and unwavering.

"As you wish. Should I arrange a meeting with her once we find someone?" Mayank asked.

"Sure," Siddharth replied, settling back into his chair and closing his eyes, eager for a moment of calm.

"Siddharth," Mayank said, his voice tinged with concern.

"Hmmm?" Siddharth murmured, not lifting his head from the backrest.

"Do you really want to go through with all this?" Mayank asked, his eyes reflecting genuine sympathy.

"It doesn't matter whether I want to or not," Siddharth replied coldly.

"It does matter," Mayank insisted. "You shouldn't have to clean up your family's mess."

"I can't run away from it forever," Siddharth whispered, his voice barely audible.

"You're sacrificing your life again, yaar," Mayank said, his concern deepening.

"jiske liye jeena chahata tha vo too chali gyi, ab Kya Karun is zindagi ka its better that i sacrifice it" (for the one i wanted to live my life for is gone so what's the point of living.) Siddharth Said before leaving the room. While Mayank just sat their cursing himself for not able to help his best friend.

AUTHOR POV

After an intense three days of relentless work, Meghna finally finished her tasks. The rain pattered softly outside, creating a soothing rhythm that filled the room. As she tidied up her cluttered desk, preparing to leave, Nick entered with a file in hand. He was in his usual black attire and leather gloves that made his muscles look more big.

"Ma'am, Mr. Gupta sent this file regarding the prospective groom for the marriage," he said, his voice carrying the hallmark of professionalism.

"Show me," Meghna said

Nick handed her the file, and she settled into her chair to review it. As she read through the document, a hint of approval crossed her face.

"So, you're arranging a marriage to a prince? Impressive," Meghna remarked.

"Actually, a king, Ma'am," Nick said, a small smile playing on his lips. "He'll be a king as soon as the marriage goes through."

"Hmm, cool," Meghna replied, her tone remaining as detached as ever.

"So, is he suitable?" Nick asked.

"Yes, he seems fine," Meghna replied, still focused on the file. "Arrange a meeting with him and have Mr. Gupta present with all the necessary documents. I want to finalize everything in one go."

"Yes, Ma'am. I'll set up the meeting as soon as possible," Nick said before exiting the office.

"Meghna Roy," he said, enunciating each syllable with deliberate care as he looked over the file in his hand. A smirk played at the corners of his lips.

"beauty with brain," he muttered, clearly impressed.

"So, sir, is she the one?" asked a man standing in front of him.

"Yes, she's perfect," he said, his gaze lingering on her photo. The man bowed and exited the room.

"You seem familiar, Ms. Roy. Have we met before, or is it just my imagination?" he whispered, his eyes still fixed on her image.

"Well, I hope we haven't crossed paths before," he continued, his voice carrying a hint of melancholy. "Because I have a tendency to destroy beauties like you."

Siddharth POV

She is beautiful-so mesmerizing that I found myself lost in her eyes. But I must remind myself that she means nothing to me and will remain nothing but a business deal. This will end soon, and nothing more will come of it.

After that incident, I've never been attracted to anyone, but her eyes seem to call out to me, as if they hold a magnetic pull. Despite their captivating allure, I refuse to let myself become vulnerable to her. The one I wanted to be soft for is gone forever, and no one has the power to make me feel the way she once did.

POV ENDS

(Everyone must be wondering na that why was Siddharth talking like to Meghna's photo don't worry you will get the answer soon.)
