Author POV
It was past midnight, and both of them sat on their balcony, captured by the stillness of the night. The sky was filled with dark clouds, reflecting their inner turmoil. They were two souls lost in their thoughts, questioning why fate had chosen to be so cruel to them. Both were very strong and brave souls but now would they have the strength to confront their fears? The night offered no answers, only the silent company of the stormy sky.

Siddharth
I'm not surprised after what Devya told me I have always been prepared to be betrayed by the people who are closest to me but what i need to do in order to resolve my problems forever is another problem for me. It's been 4 hours since im sitting in the room of the old mansion wondering if i should do it or not, even though i have already taken my decision im still not sure. Maybe if she was here it would have been different.

Meghna

Flashback

"Mam, the solution could involve significant risks—potentially jeopardizing your entire life," Mr. Gupta said quietly.

Meghna exhaled sharply, running her fingers through her hair in frustration. "Mr. Gupta, I didn't summon you here to play games of riddles. If you don't get to the point, you'll find that wasting my time will have consequences you might not want to face," Meghna said, her eyes locked onto him with steely intensity.

Mr. Gupta gulped at her words. "Ma'am, I have reviewed the will, and there is only one solution," he said carefully.
"Hmm," Meghna responded in a husky tone, her eyes narrowing slightly.
"It states that you can only become Vinayak's guardian if you are married," he continued, each word measured and deliberate.
"What?!" Meghna's voice was a mix of disbelief and shock.
"Is there any other alternative?" Nick asked, his voice tinged with concern as he stood beside her.
"Yes, sir, but it would still require marriage," Mr. Gupta explained. "You could marry someone temporarily for six months and then divorce."
"Are you suggesting a contract marriage, Mr. Gupta?"  Meghna asked, Meghna's gaze was fixed on the distant horizon through the window.
"Yes, ma'am. This is, unfortunately, the best—or rather, the only—solution," Mr. Gupta confirmed.
Meghna remained silent, her eyes still focused on the outside world, lost in thought.
"Ma'am, what should we do?" Nick whispered softly in her ear.
"You may go, Mr. Gupta. Nick will inform you of my decision," Meghna said, her voice icy and resolute.
"As you wish, ma'am," Mr. Gupta replied, bowing respectfully before turning and leaving the room.

Nick watched Meghna, her eyes fixed on the window with an unsettling emptiness. For the first time in seven years, she seemed genuinely lost, her usual composure faltering. Nick was taken aback by her sudden vulnerability and silence.
"Wanna grab something to eat, Ms. Roy?" Nick asked, hoping to offer her a distraction.
Meghna blinked, as if waking from a trance, and her gaze shifted towards him. "Hmm," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.

They arrived at their usual café, an old, out-of-the-way spot on the city's outskirts. Its obscurity and emptiness made it the perfect sanctuary for their quiet conversations.

Breaking the silence that had settled between them, Meghna asked, "What should I do, Nick? What do you suggest?"

Nick sighed, looking thoughtful before responding. "To be honest, ma'am, I don't have a clear answer. Maybe you should talk to Sebastian(her soul brother) about it? He knows you well and might help you find the right path."

"He'll say no," Meghna said, taking a contemplative sip of her coffee.

"There's your answer, ma'am. It seems like you're frustrated that Sebastian would say no. Maybe deep down, you're considering this marriage," Nick said, a hint of satisfaction in his voice.

Meghna regarded him with a small, amused smile, then chuckled softly. "Oh, look at you, all proud of your little insight," she teased, slipping her coat on and preparing to leave.

"I'm going now. I'll let you know my decision before morning, so you'd better stay awake," Meghna said, her tone firm but light-hearted as she made her exit.

After arriving at the office, Devya and Siddharth to the private room reserved for special meetings. The room was dimly lit, its dark atmosphere reminiscent of a basement. It featured only a large table and a vault embedded in the wall.
"Sir, shall I proceed?" Devya asked, seeking Siddharth's permission as he reached for a file in his bag.
"Hm," Siddharth responded with a curt nod, his expression unreadable.

"Sir, I've investigated the case, and it appears your rival is filing a suit against you for business fraud," Nick reported in a professional tone.
"Which fraud?" Siddharth asked, his voice dark and edged. "Does he have any evidence against me, or is he just making a play in the dark?"
"Yes, sir. Surprisingly, he does have evidence. We're still trying to determine the specifics, but we do know who provided it to him," Devya said, choosing his words carefully.
"Who?" Siddharth snapped, his voice a dangerous low growl, as if the mere mention of the name might unleash his fury.
"Sir," Devya said, presenting a file with a photograph of the individual in question.
Siddharth's eyes, once as dark as the night, softened as he stared at the photo. His expression shifted to one of betrayal and inner torment, though he quickly masked it with a cold and controlled demeanor.
"Sir, what are your orders?" Devya asked, sensing the gravity of the moment.

Siddharth exhaled before saying "call our lawyer and ask him to find a bride on contract bases, this families secrets are haunting me and by hook or crook ill find them out. "
Devya was shocked by his words and was looking at him surprisingly
"Dont be surprised devya, these ranawats are crazy people inke plans mujhe bhi kabhi samajh nhi aate, go do as he say" said Siddharth best friend Mayank who entered the room wearing a jet black coat and glasses
"What are you doing here?" Siddharth asked
"Socha apne bhai ki help kru after all im the best lawyer so you might need my help and dont worry i will charge you minimal fee" Mayank said in playful tone trying to irritate his best friend
Siddharth stared at him for sometime in annoyance before throwing a file at him
"Case kr dunga tere upr main " Mayank said catching the file "molestation ka." Mayank whispered in his ears as if he was trying kiss Siddharth, and Siddharth threw him (A/N: No one is civil here, huh!)

Flashback ends

Author POV
She had been sitting there for so long that her hands and legs had grown numb from the cold, but she seemed unbothered to the discomfort. Taking a deep breath, she finally picked up her phone. Her gaze fixed on the phone number, Meghna closed her eyes, a wave of despair washing over her, before she dialed.
"Tell ," Meghna said, her voice barely audible and strained.
"Ma'am, are you there?" Nick's voice crackled through the line, tinged with concern.
"Tell Mr. Gupta to prepare the documents and find a groom for the contract marriage," Meghna instructed in a single, emotionless breath.
"Understood, ma'am," Nick replied, his tone respectful but wary, before disconnecting the call.

Meghna threw her phone onto the nearest table, the impact barely registering as she shut her eyes tightly. Tears began to stream down her face, each drop a silent testament to the weight of her decision. Her shoulders trembled slightly as she struggled to contain the flood of emotions, the gravity of her situation finally sinking in.
